Brazil boost for UK based contrctor

Fluid transfer specialist FES International has landed a deal to deliver specialised sub-surface equipment for one of Brazil's FPSOs.

FES International has inked a US $7.4 million deal with riser and flowline manufacturer Wellstream to deliver bend stiffener connectors to Brazil's OGX for the Waimea field development in the Campos Basin.

Latching mechanisms on the connectors have been custom-designed and manufactured to fit OGX’s requirements, providing an automatic intervention which offers safer and more reliable connection, according to FES says.

OGX, Brazil's largest independent oil and gas producers, earlier this year declared its intention to commercialise the Waimea field complex and the Waikiki fields this year and next.
