End of the The World data is nigh

Seismic provider TGS is expanding the scope of a multi-client survey offshore Norway which will sweep over the Northern North Sea.

Supported with industry funding, TGS said it has now kicked off the 4,000 square kilometre survey in the Northern North sea near to the southern end of Norway's Møre Basin region, which is designated EOTW12, - End of the The World..

The new industry-funded survey will build on data already acquired in the Erlend basin region TGS says, and once complete, EOTW 12 will form part of a 13,000 sq. km 3D volume for the region.

“The survey will de-risk multiple play types spanning Cretaceous to Triassic age reservoirs and is adjacent to a current exploration well targeting the Albert prospect,” the seismic contractor says.

Data is being acquired by two ships, the MV Polarcus Amana and the Polarcus Adira, and data collection is due to complete by the third quarter this year. Data processing is due to be done by TGS and will be available by the second quarter next year.
