Kosmos ends Ghana equity move

African explorer Kosmos Energy has agreed not to take a bigger stake in the Deepwater Tano block offshore Ghana with partner Sabre Oil and Gas which contains a number of pre-development discoveries.

Kosmos says it has “...by mutual agreement” agreed with Sabre to terminate its acquisition of Sabre's 4.05% equity in the Deepwater Tano block which contains the Enyenra, Tweneboa, Ntomme and Tweneboa Deep discoveries.

Accordingly Kosmos says its share of the block will remain at 18%, while operator Tullow Oil remains with 49.95%, Anadarko has 18%, and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation remains with a 10% carried interest.
