Operator Total has selected Aker Solutions to supply more deepwater hardware for its deepwater Dalia field offshore Angola.

Aker has been contracted to delivery seven subsea production trees, seven wellheads, and jumpers, and the deal may include some options for other equipment, Aker says – nine years after Aker first supplied equipment for Dalia back in 2003.

In total the deal is worth NOK 470 million (£50.5 million).

Alan Brunnen, executive vice president of Aker's subsea division said the first subsea tree award was signed for Dalia in 2003. “We have successfully delivered 71 subsea tree systems to this field. We are very pleased to continue this positive relationship with Total E&P Angola and look forward to executing this project,” Brunnen added.

For the new supply deal, Aker will execute engineering in Tranby, Norway, and equipment manufacture will take place in Aberdeen and Port Klang, Malaysia, with deliveries falling due in 2013 and 2014.

Dalia lies in block 17 offshore Angola, and the trees and other equipment will be specified for service in a water depth of 1200 to 1400 metres (3,936 – 4,592 feet).
