More oil in PL265

More oil has been found in the Norwegian licence block which also contains the giant Johan Sverdrup field.

Drilling partner Det Norske reports that operator Statoil has made another oil find on the Geitungen prospect in PL265 – which is one of the two licences encompassing the Johan Sverdrup discovery.

Det norske oljeselskap– which has 20% equity in PL265 – has revealed that the oil has been found in Geitungen: Oil was encountered and a sample has been recovered from the well. “Drilling operations are ongoing and the final results from the well are thus not yet available,” Det norske said last Friday, 17 August.
