Middle East rig builders Lamprell has landed new rig construction deals worth a further US $333 million after options were exercised by an existing client.
Abu Dhabi's National Drilling Company has opted to place orders for two more jackups with Lamprell which are in addition to four drilling units already being built by Lamprell for NDC.
The two new units will be based on the same Le Tourneau design with a water depth capability of )60 metres (200 feet) and a drilling depth of 9,200 m (30,000 ft).
Due for delivery in the fourth quarter 2014 and first quarter 2015 respectively, both rigs will be built at Lamprell’s Hamriyah construction facility.
