Rialto Energy has reported the completion of a drill stem test on the Gazelle P3 well offshore Cote d'Ivoire.

Australian and London-listed Rialto said the Gazelle P3 well has produced a maximum flow rate of 19.5 Mmcf/d of gas and 133 b/d of condensate from the block CI 102 discovery.

Rialto said the well also tested 40º API oil at an untabilised rate of 760 b/d before the well began channelling gas.

Through these well results, Rialto says it has also achieved a significant reduction of the geological risk of the greater Condor prospect – which has a 750 billion cubic feet mean prospective resource estimate - in an Upper Cenomanian reservoir,

Gazelle P3 well is to be suspended for future use and Rialto says it has now completed the ST2 well testing programme.
Next, the same rig the will commence drilling a Gazelle-P4 well, to appraise two additional oil reservoirs and three gas reservoirs as well as obtaining an additional penetrations.

“Following the drilling of the Gazelle-P4 well, all subsurface data from the Gazelle field drilling programme will be integrated with the final processed 3D seismic data and a revised Competent Persons Report issued,” the company stated today. .

Jeff Schrull, Rialto's managing director pointed out this was the company's first well in block CI 102, along partner Petroci. “The appraisal and well test data obtained will facilitate optimal and timely development of the Gazelle field, and the Condor gas discovery demonstrates the remaining high impact exploration potential of this block,” Schrull added.
