Rig fixed for Greater Stella

Ensco Drilling has signed a deal to supply a jackup rig for development drilling on Ithaca Energy's Greater Stella area development in the UK sector of the North Sea.

Based on a letter of award, the Ensco 100 is to be used to drill on the Harrier  and Stella fields in block 30/6a in the UK Central North Sea after a deal with Ithaca involving five firm wells and options for three more, commencing at the Stella field in the second half next year.

Recently Ithaca finalised its concept selection for the Greater Stella Area which is based on using Petrofac's FPF 1 floating production facility as a platform for the development.
