Hydraulic training pumped up
Aberdeen-based hydraulics specialists C-Mar has launched a training course aimed at operatives in the offshore sector to give them a better understanding of fluid power systems in association with Tullos Training.
Together the two companies say the new training programme will provide hydraulics engineers and technicians with greater expertise in fault-finding and repair procedures, to address what they say is an “acute” shortage of hydraulics experts.
“We have tailored this programme specifically to target maintenance staff who are directly involved in break down, repair and fault finding in hydraulic systems so that key members of the workforce can identify and rectify problems quickly, reducing the impact on a platform’s productivity,” explained Andrew Macdonald, director of operations at C-MAR.
Hydraulic engineer Graeme Bain, who works for C-MAR and who has 25 years experience including working on offshore platforms and rigs, will be delivering the course, drawing on his extensive industry experience.
