Shell and Exxon’s Dutch joint venture NAM has signed a long-term deal with KCA Deutag for the provision of a heavy duty land rig.

NAM has signed a deal to hire a KCA Deutag T-700 Bentec heavy duty land rig for up to seven years with two firms years of drilling with five years of options, under a contract valued at more than €20 million.

Drilling with the new rig, which was designed to limit environmental impacts, and provide high mobility, modularity and flexibility, is due to commence in 2012.
