Oil and Gas UK is hosting a supply chain seminar next month aimed at suppliers to the UK’s offshore energy industry.

Dana Petroleum, which is now moving forward with its North Sea Western Isles development, is one of the confirmed speakers at the event, along with representatives from Apache North Sea, Amec, and Technip, as well as procurement experts from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply.

Invitations have also been extended to Premier Oil – which is taking over as operator of the Sea Lion development from Rockhopper Exploration – offshore the Falkland Islands and which is set to use a floating production system –  and to BAA Systems and Global Energy Group.

David Ripley of Oil and Gas UK, will chair the event, which takes place at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre oh 18 September starting at 9am.

The event, which is being organised by Oil and Gas UK, is aimed at providing delegates with insight from major contractors and operator companies on delivering cost-effective solutions for UK offshore projects. Experience of North Sea logistics using both sea and air routes is to be shared, while supply chain aspects of decommissioning are also due to be discussed. Procurement experts from other industries will also be there to share their experience.
